Sanxiang City newspaper is opened on 30th, June. 1995. The newspaper has an outstanding position in the news media of Hunan, especially in the media of newspaper. It is the only province level evening newspaper in Hunan, and it is also the newspaper of the largest volume of publishing, and of the widest range in Hunan. It is one of the leading news units in Hunan. It is the presenting unit of spirit civilization of the national presses (the only one who gets the title in the news media in Hunan). It is the civilization unit of Hunan rewarded by the Party committee of Hunan and the government of Hunan, and it is the first unit in Hunan news media who gets the title.
　　 Since the extension to 16 block in Sep. 1998, it always follows the aim of serving the citizens and connecting the whole families. It reflects the great achievements of the building for two civilizations and the key news inside or outside the country generally, actually, immediately and vividly, with key news, series report, trace report, comprehensive report, letters form the reader and with the quick special report. It pays attention to the by-side affairs, and the affairs that related to the benefits of the people, and appeals for them. It is the bridge between the government and the people to help them solve many problems, and gets a good reputation among the people. After the beginning of the paper, Sanxiang city paper gets rewards for over 200 essays in the important competition such as reward of Hunan press, good news in the provincial newspaper, national good news of provincial evening newspaper. There are over 300 essays relayed by Xinhua News Agency every year. There are over 500 essays reprinted by the media outside of the province, and it is at the top of the same kinds of paper.

With the increasing reputation of Sanxiang city newspaper, the business for ads goes into a higher step, and the income and profit of ads increase in large scale. Under the tense macroscopic economy environment and the hot competition of ads, the ads department of Sanxiang City paper uses different kinds of efficient way to widen the channels and increase the income. It holds the activity of selecting the best ads acting company, and there are over 70 ads acting companies in out of the province acting the business of ads for it. It makes many policies both on principle and flexibility to attract the ad client. Now, the daily distributing number is over 290000, and it becomes one of the newspapers with the largest volume of distributing. In October 1998, the distributing company of Sanxiang City paper is set, and it will be put into work from the beginning of 2000. It sets sub-printing spots in Guangzhou, Beijing, shanghai and Chengdu, and wants to break the publishing volume of 400000.

There are 2 working staff get the title of “100 best working staff in press of the nation”, and 20 get the provincial rewards.
