丁丽娜

丁丽娜, 美国纽约布鲁克林公立图书馆美科林分馆馆长。
丁丽娜出生在南京，长在苏州，无锡和滁州等地。1983年毕业于苏州职业大学中文专业。2003年在美国纽约布莱特学院获得图书馆系硕士学位。
文革期间学校停课，丁丽娜入伍在南京军区服役五年。回地方后她重返学校，毕业后即在苏州商专教书并兼任办公室主任后升任副校长直到1990年来美国。
丁丽娜的图书馆职业生涯始于1998年。专业职称是资深儿童图书馆员，曾多次受邀给系统内的儿童图书馆员和系统外的幼教讲课。丁丽娜是全美图书馆协会的会员和美籍华裔图书馆员协会美东分会的终身会员。丁丽娜连续三年出任美东分会的常务理事至担任本届会长。最近几年她还在布鲁克林中文学校教写作。
Lina Ding graduated from Suzhou Vocational University (equivalent of B.A. degree, 1983), Pratt Institute (master's degree in information and library science, 2003).
Because opportunities for formal education in China were disrupted during the years of the Cultural Revolution, She enlisted in the People's Liberation Army, serving for more than five years in East China. After demobilization, she returned to school and took a degree in Chinese language and literature. Interested in education, she taught and served as the assistant principal of a secondary school in Suzhou for seven years.
Ms. Ding immigrated to the United States in 1990, where she began her career as a librarian. She joined the Brooklyn Public Library system, the fifth largest in the United States, in 1998, working first as a children's librarian and eventually shifting to a supervisory position.
She has been a member of the American Library Association since 2001 and is a life member of the Chinese-American Librarians Association, serving on the board of its Northeast Chapter for three terms. I am president of the Chapter this year.
She continues to be involved in teaching and have taught writing to Chinese-American students in recent years.
